Straight-Bore Nozzle

The F113-022 uses a straight-bore nozzle, which produces a relatively concentrated abrasive stream.

This makes the gun well suited for applications where the operator wants to focus the blast pattern on a specific area, including smaller components, localized coating removal, detailed cleaning, and general blast-cabinet work.

Why Boron Carbide?

Boron carbide is an extremely hard, wear-resistant material and is an excellent choice for blast nozzles exposed to continuous abrasive flow.

Its resistance to abrasive erosion makes it particularly useful for:

  • Production blast cabinets
  • Frequent or continuous blasting
  • Aggressive abrasive media
  • Industrial surface preparation
  • Applications where extended nozzle life is important

Actual nozzle life depends on abrasive type, media size, operating pressure, and blasting conditions.

How a Suction Blast Gun Works

Compressed air passing through the 5/32" air jet creates a low-pressure area inside the gun that draws abrasive media through the media hose.

The abrasive mixes with the compressed-air stream and exits through the 5/16" boron carbide straight-bore nozzle toward the work surface.

Proper matching of the air jet, nozzle, abrasive supply, and compressor capacity is important for consistent abrasive pickup and blasting performance.

Air Consumption / Compressor Requirements

CFM figures are provided as a general siphon-blast compressor-sizing reference. Actual air consumption may vary with blast-gun configuration, operating conditions, nozzle condition, and air-supply system. Your compressor must be capable of maintaining sufficient CFM at the desired operating pressure for proper abrasive pickup and blasting performance.

Applications:

  • Suction-feed blast cabinets
  • Production abrasive blasting
  • Localized surface preparation
  • Paint and coating removal
  • Rust and corrosion removal
  • Cleaning fabricated and machined components
  • Equipment restoration
  • Industrial maintenance
  • General abrasive blasting

Checking Nozzle Wear

Even a boron carbide nozzle will gradually wear as abrasive passes through it.

As the bore enlarges, you may notice:

  • Increased compressed-air consumption
  • Changes in the blast pattern
  • Reduced abrasive velocity
  • Reduced blasting efficiency
  • Increased abrasive consumption
  • Compressor struggling to maintain pressure

Periodically measuring the nozzle bore helps identify excessive wear before it begins significantly affecting blast performance.

Finding Parts for Older Universal / Uniblast Equipment

Universal Equipment Manufacturing and Uniblast Technologies blasting equipment has been used in industrial applications for many years, and identifying components for older machines can sometimes be difficult.

That's why we include the original manufacturer part number and complete gun configuration whenever possible.

For this assembly, the key identification information is:

Universal / Uniblast F113-022 – 5/16" Boron Carbide Straight-Bore Nozzle with 5/32" Air Jet

Important:

This listing is for one Universal Equipment Manufacturing / Uniblast Technologies F113-022 complete blast gun assembly with 5/16" boron carbide straight-bore nozzle and 5/32" air jet.

Always verify the F113-022 part number, nozzle size, nozzle type, and air-jet size required for your equipment before ordering.

Completely shut off and relieve compressed-air pressure before installing, removing, or servicing any blast gun, nozzle, hose, or related blasting component. Never operate abrasive blasting equipment with damaged or improperly secured components.
