Why Tungsten Carbide?

Tungsten carbide combines excellent wear resistance with the durability needed for demanding abrasive blasting applications.

It is a proven nozzle material for industrial blast cabinets, production work, equipment restoration, coating removal, and general-purpose abrasive blasting.

Actual nozzle life depends on the abrasive being used, media size, operating pressure, frequency of use, and other blasting conditions.

How a Suction Blast Gun Works

Compressed air passes through the 1/8" air jet, creating a low-pressure area inside the blast gun that draws abrasive media through the media hose.

The abrasive combines with the compressed-air stream and exits through the 5/16" tungsten carbide nozzle toward the work surface.

Correct matching of the nozzle, air jet, abrasive supply, and compressor capacity is important for consistent media pickup and efficient blasting.

Air Consumption / Compressor Requirements

Compressor Sizing Note: The F113-002 is equipped with a 5/16" tungsten carbide nozzle and 1/8" air jet. The accompanying CFM chart is provided as a general siphon-blast reference. Because air consumption varies with air-jet size, nozzle configuration, operating pressure, and system conditions, the chart should not be considered the exact CFM specification for the F113-002.

Applications:

  • Suction-feed blast cabinets
  • Industrial abrasive blasting
  • Surface preparation
  • Paint and coating removal
  • Rust and corrosion removal
  • Cleaning fabricated and machined components
  • Equipment restoration
  • Production blasting
  • General industrial maintenance

Checking Nozzle Wear

Tungsten carbide provides excellent wear resistance, but every blast nozzle eventually wears.

As the nozzle bore enlarges, you may notice:

  • Increased compressed-air demand
  • Changes in the blast pattern
  • Reduced abrasive velocity
  • Reduced blasting efficiency
  • Increased abrasive consumption
  • Difficulty maintaining operating pressure

Periodically measuring the nozzle bore can help identify excessive wear before it noticeably affects blasting performance.

Finding Parts for Older Universal / Uniblast Equipment

Universal Equipment Manufacturing and Uniblast Technologies blasting equipment has been used in industrial applications for many years. Older manuals and parts information may identify blast guns by part number, gun designation, or nozzle/air-jet configuration.

For this assembly, the key identification information is:

Universal / Uniblast F113-002 – 5/16" Tungsten Carbide Nozzle with 1/8" Air Jet

Important:

This listing is for one Universal Equipment Manufacturing / Uniblast Technologies F113-002 Gun A complete blast gun assembly with 5/16" tungsten carbide nozzle and 1/8" air jet.

Always verify the F113-002 part number, nozzle size, and air-jet size required for your equipment before ordering.

Completely shut off and relieve compressed-air pressure before installing, removing, or servicing any blast gun, nozzle, hose, or related blasting component. Never operate abrasive blasting equipment with damaged or improperly secured components.
