Replaces Wagner SprayTech 13359 Outlet/Piston Valve Seat – 945, 975, EP & EPX
Service the fluid section on your Wagner SprayTech airless sprayer with this aftermarket outlet/piston valve seat that replaces SprayTech Part #13359.
The 13359 valve seat is part of the piston outlet check-valve assembly inside the displacement pump. It provides the sealing surface for the outlet valve ball, helping control material flow through the fluid section during each pump stroke.

What the 13359 Valve Seat Does
The fluid section uses inlet and outlet check valves to move coating through the pump while preventing material from flowing backward.
The 13359 seat works with the outlet valve ball in the piston assembly. As the piston reciprocates, the ball repeatedly opens and closes against this seat.
When the ball and seat are in good condition, the valve seals during the appropriate portion of the pump stroke. If the seat becomes worn, pitted, eroded, or damaged, material can bypass the valve and reduce pump performance.
Common Signs of a Worn Piston Valve Seat:
- Pump has difficulty building pressure
- Sprayer will not maintain pressure
- Excessive cycling with the spray gun closed
- Reduced fluid output
- Erratic or fluctuating pressure
- Difficulty priming
- Inconsistent material delivery
- Visible pitting or erosion of the seat
- Outlet valve ball does not seal properly
Inspect the Ball With the Seat
The valve ball and seat operate together as a sealing pair.
When replacing the 13359 valve seat, inspect the mating outlet valve ball carefully. A ball that is worn, pitted, corroded, or damaged may not seal properly even against a new seat.
While the fluid section is apart, it's also a good time to inspect the:
- Outlet valve ball
- Piston / displacement rod
- Cylinder
- Upper and lower packings
- Packing glands
- Inlet valve ball and seat
- O-rings and seals
- Valve cages and retainers
Don't Automatically Blame the Packings
This is especially useful when troubleshooting one of these older SprayTech pumps.
A sprayer that won't build or maintain pressure doesn't necessarily need packings. A leaking inlet or piston outlet check valve can produce many of the same symptoms.
If the packings appear serviceable but the pump is still losing pressure internally, inspect the valve balls and seats for wear or contamination before condemning the entire fluid section.
Finding Parts for Older SprayTech Equipment
Older Wagner SprayTech equipment can be particularly confusing because many machines were sold under Amspray, Glidden/ICI, Sherwin-Williams, Fuller O'Brien and other private-label names.
The name printed on the sprayer isn't always the best way to identify the correct fluid-section component.
That's why we include the original SprayTech part number and known equipment applications whenever possible. If the parts breakdown for the fluid section installed on your machine specifies 13359, this is the piston/outlet valve seat you're looking for.
Important:
This listing is for one aftermarket outlet/piston valve seat that replaces Wagner SprayTech Part #13359.
The outlet valve ball, piston assembly, packings, glands and other fluid-section components are sold separately unless specifically stated otherwise.
This is an aftermarket component and is not manufactured by Wagner or SprayTech.
Because many of these sprayers are older and may have been rebuilt or fitted with a different fluid section during their service life, always verify Part #13359 in the parts breakdown for the pump currently installed on your equipment before ordering.
Completely relieve fluid pressure, disconnect power, and follow the manufacturer's pressure-relief procedure before servicing any airless sprayer fluid section.
