Replaces Titan 805-845 Reversible Outlet Valve Repair Kit – Impact 440, 540 & 640

Restore proper pressure and check-valve operation in your Titan airless sprayer with this aftermarket reversible outlet valve repair kit that replaces Titan Part #805-845.

The 805-845 services the outlet check valve located in the piston assembly. This valve allows coating to move through the piston during the pumping cycle while preventing material from flowing backward. Titan identifies 805-845 as a Reversible Outlet Valve Seat Kit in its service literature.

What the Outlet Valve Does

The fluid section uses inlet and outlet check valves to move coating through the pump in one direction.

The 805-845 outlet valve is located in the piston assembly. As the piston reciprocates, the valve opens to allow coating to pass through the piston and then closes to prevent material from flowing backward.

Titan's Impact 440 service manual specifically shows 805-845 as the outlet valve kit servicing the piston assembly.

Kit Components

The 805-845 kit services the primary wear components of the outlet valve. Parts references identify the kit as including the upper cage, crush washer, outlet valve ball, outlet valve seat, and foot-valve seal.

This makes it more useful than replacing only the ball or seat when rebuilding a worn fluid section.

Common Signs of Outlet Valve Problems:

  • Sprayer has difficulty building pressure
  • Pump will not maintain pressure
  • Excessive cycling with the gun closed
  • Reduced material output
  • Erratic or fluctuating spray pressure
  • Pump primes but performs poorly under pressure
  • Outlet valve ball or seat is worn or damaged
  • Dried coating or debris prevents the valve from sealing

Reversible Valve Seat

One nice feature of this design is the reversible outlet valve seat.

If one sealing surface becomes worn or damaged, the seat can be inspected to determine whether the opposite surface remains serviceable. Titan specifically refers to 805-845 as a reversible outlet valve seat kit.

If both sealing surfaces are worn, pitted, or damaged, the seat should be replaced.

Don't Confuse the Inlet and Outlet Kits

Titan uses two similarly numbered service kits in these fluid sections:

  • 805-845 – Outlet Valve Kit
  • 805-846 – Inlet Valve Kit

The 805-845 outlet valve is associated with the piston assembly, while 805-846 services the inlet side of the fluid section. Both appear together in Titan's Impact fluid-section parts information.

Inspect the Rest of the Fluid Section

If the outlet valve is worn enough to require service, take the opportunity to inspect the rest of the pump, including the:

  • Piston rod
  • Cylinder
  • Upper and lower packings
  • Piston guide
  • Inlet valve
  • Valve balls and seats
  • O-rings and seals

Pressure loss isn't always caused by packings. A leaking inlet or outlet check valve can produce many of the same symptoms.

Finding Parts for Older Titan Sprayers

The 805-845 has been used across several generations of Titan professional airless sprayers. That can make identifying the correct component confusing, particularly when you're working on an older ix or RentSpray machine.

Using the original Titan 805-845 part number is the safest way to identify the correct outlet-valve kit for the fluid section installed on your sprayer.

Important:

This listing is for one aftermarket reversible outlet valve repair kit that replaces Titan Part #805-845.

The 805-846 inlet valve kit, piston assembly, packings, piston rod, cylinder, and other fluid-section components are sold separately unless specifically stated otherwise.

This is an aftermarket repair kit and is not manufactured by Titan.

Because older sprayers may have been repaired or fitted with different fluid-section components during their service life, always verify Titan Part #805-845 for the pump currently installed on your equipment before ordering.

Completely relieve fluid pressure, disconnect power, and follow the manufacturer's pressure-relief procedure before servicing the fluid section.
