Replaces Titan 800-241 Intake Valve Kit – 740i, 740ix, 840i, 840ix & 1140ix
Restore proper priming and fluid flow in your Titan airless sprayer with this aftermarket intake valve kit that replaces Titan Part #800-241.
The intake valve—also commonly called the inlet valve or foot valve—is located at the bottom of the fluid section and controls material entering the displacement pump. A worn or contaminated intake valve can cause poor priming, loss of pressure, reduced output, and inconsistent pump operation.

What the Intake Valve Does
The displacement pump relies on two primary check-valve systems to move coating in one direction through the fluid section.
The 800-241 intake valve controls material entering the pump. As the piston cycles, the valve opens to allow coating to enter the fluid section and then closes to prevent that material from flowing back toward the suction tube.
For the pump to prime and operate correctly, the intake valve must move freely and seal properly.
Common Signs of Intake Valve Problems:
- Sprayer will not prime
- Pump runs but won't pick up paint
- Pump repeatedly loses prime
- Reduced material output
- Difficulty building pressure
- Erratic pump operation
- Material moves backward toward the suction tube
- Valve is stuck from dried coating
- Ball or seat is worn or damaged
- Debris is preventing the valve from sealing
If It Won't Prime, Start Here
An intake valve is one of the first things worth checking when an airless sprayer runs but refuses to draw material.
Dried coating, debris, or a valve that has become stuck after storage can prevent the inlet check valve from operating correctly. A worn valve ball or damaged seat can cause similar problems.
That means poor priming doesn't automatically mean the fluid-section packings are bad.
Before tearing down the entire pump, inspect the intake valve and make sure its components are clean, free-moving, and capable of sealing properly.
Inspect the Rest of the Fluid Section
If you're rebuilding the intake valve, it's a good opportunity to inspect the other wear components in the pump:
- Intake valve ball and seat
- Piston outlet valve
- Outlet valve ball and seat
- Piston rod
- Cylinder
- Upper and lower packings
- Packing glands
- O-rings and seals
A high-hour pump can have wear in several areas, and replacing one component won't correct damage elsewhere in the fluid section.
Intake Valve vs. Piston Outlet Valve
This is particularly useful because we've already cleaned up another part from this same pump family.
Titan 800-241 is the intake/inlet valve kit at the lower end of the fluid section.
Titan 800-243 is the outlet/piston valve seat used in the piston check-valve assembly.
They both control material flow through the pump, but they're located in different areas and perform different portions of the pumping cycle.
Finding Parts for Older Titan Equipment
The Titan 740, 840 and 1140 families were produced under several model designations, including Epic, i, ix and ix Digital versions, and the same general equipment family may appear differently in older parts information.
That's why we include the original Titan 800-241 part number along with the known model applications whenever possible.
If the parts breakdown for the fluid section installed on your machine specifies 800-241, this is the intake valve kit you're looking for.
Important:
This listing is for one aftermarket intake valve kit that replaces Titan Part #800-241.
The 800-243 piston/outlet valve seat, packings, piston rod, cylinder, and other fluid-section components are sold separately unless specifically stated otherwise.
This is an aftermarket repair kit and is not manufactured by Titan or SpeeFlo.
Because older sprayers may have been repaired or fitted with different fluid-section components during their service life, always verify Titan Part #800-241 for the pump currently installed on your equipment before ordering.
Completely relieve fluid pressure, disconnect power, and follow the manufacturer's pressure-relief procedure before servicing the fluid section.
