Replaces Titan 700-585 Piston Outlet Valve – Epic 440E, 447EX, 660EX & 690GX
Restore proper operation of the fluid section on your Titan airless paint sprayer with this aftermarket piston outlet valve that replaces Titan Part #700-585.
The outlet valve is a critical component inside the displacement pump. It works as a check valve during the pumping cycle, allowing coating to move through the fluid section while preventing reverse flow. A worn or damaged outlet valve can cause poor priming, pressure loss, excessive pump cycling, and reduced spray performance.
Part Information:
- Replaces Titan Part Number: 700-585
- Product: Piston Outlet Valve
- Type: Aftermarket
- Application: Airless Paint Sprayer Fluid Section / Displacement Pump

What the Piston Outlet Valve Does
The outlet valve is part of the pumping system that controls the direction of coating as the piston moves through its stroke.
When operating correctly, the valve opens and closes with each pump cycle, allowing material to move toward the spray hose while preventing it from flowing backward through the displacement pump.
The valve and its sealing surfaces are subjected to high pressure and constant exposure to paint and other coatings. Normal wear, dried material, contamination, or damage can eventually prevent the valve from sealing properly.
Common Signs of a Worn Outlet Valve:
- Sprayer has difficulty building pressure
- Pump will not maintain pressure
- Pump cycles while the spray gun is closed
- Poor or inconsistent fluid output
- Difficulty priming
- Pressure fluctuates while spraying
- Pump continues running excessively
- Debris or dried coating prevents the valve from seating
- Visible wear or damage to the valve
Don't Automatically Blame the Packings
When an airless pump won't build or hold pressure, worn packings aren't always the problem.
A leaking inlet or outlet check valve can produce many of the same symptoms. If the valve doesn't seal completely, fluid can move backward during the pump stroke instead of being pushed efficiently through the sprayer.
When troubleshooting the fluid section, inspect the outlet valve, inlet valve, valve seats, piston rod, packings, and other sealing components before deciding what needs to be replaced.
Rebuilding Your Titan Fluid Pump
While the fluid section is apart, inspect the:
- Piston outlet valve
- Outlet valve sealing surfaces
- Inlet valve and seat
- Piston rod
- Upper and lower packings
- Cylinder
- O-rings and seals
Dried paint or debris on a valve seat can sometimes cause problems even when the component itself isn't badly worn. Clean and inspect the components carefully before reassembly.
Keeping Older Titan Epic Sprayers Working
The Epic 440E, 447EX, 660EX and 690GX are older Titan machines, but many are still capable professional sprayers when their fluid sections are properly maintained.
Parts identification can become more difficult as equipment ages, particularly when several generations of similarly named Titan sprayers exist.
That's why we include the original Titan part number and compatible sprayer models whenever possible—making it easier to identify the correct component before ordering.
Important:
This listing is for one aftermarket piston outlet valve that replaces Titan Part #700-585.
This is an aftermarket component and is not manufactured by Titan.
Because these sprayers are older and may have had the fluid section replaced or modified during their service life, always verify the 700-585 part number for the pump currently installed on your machine before ordering.
