Replaces Titan 700-583 Flat Inlet Valve – Epic 440E, 447EX, 660EX & 690GX

Restore proper priming and fluid flow in your Titan airless sprayer with this aftermarket flat inlet valve that replaces Titan Part #700-583.

The inlet valve is located at the intake side of the fluid section and acts as a check valve, allowing coating to enter the pump while preventing it from flowing backward during the pumping cycle. A worn, damaged, or contaminated inlet valve can cause poor priming, reduced output, pressure problems, and inconsistent pump operation.

What the Flat Inlet Valve Does

The inlet valve is the first check valve material encounters as it enters the displacement pump.

As the piston moves through its cycle, the inlet valve opens to allow coating into the pump and closes to prevent the material from flowing back toward the suction tube.

Unlike a conventional ball-and-seat arrangement, this fluid section uses a flat-style inlet valve, which is why identifying the correct component by the original 700-583 part number is particularly important.

Common Signs of a Worn or Damaged Inlet Valve:

  • Sprayer is difficult or impossible to prime
  • Pump runs but does not draw material
  • Reduced fluid output
  • Pump loses prime
  • Erratic pressure
  • Excessive pump cycling
  • Material flows backward toward the suction side
  • Dried coating or debris prevents the valve from sealing
  • Visible wear or damage to the valve

Poor Priming? Check the Inlet Valve First

When an airless sprayer runs but refuses to pick up paint, the fluid-section packings aren't necessarily the problem.

An inlet valve that is stuck, dirty, worn, or unable to seal can prevent the pump from developing the suction necessary to draw material into the fluid section.

Before performing a complete pump rebuild, inspect the inlet valve and make sure it moves and seals properly.

Inspect the Related Fluid-Section Parts

If you're already servicing the inlet valve, it's a good opportunity to inspect the rest of the fluid section, including the:

  • Inlet valve components
  • Piston outlet valve
  • Piston valve ball and seat
  • Piston rod
  • Cylinder
  • Upper and lower packings
  • Packing glands
  • O-rings and seals

Finding Parts for Older Titan Epic Sprayers

The Epic 440E, 447EX, 660EX and 690GX are older professional Titan machines, and repair parts can become increasingly difficult to identify as equipment changes hands and original manuals disappear.

That's why we include the original Titan part number and known sprayer applications whenever possible.

If the parts breakdown for your fluid section specifies 700-583, this is the flat inlet valve you're looking for.

Important:

This listing is for one aftermarket flat inlet valve that replaces Titan Part #700-583.

The 700-585 piston outlet valve, packings, piston rod, cylinder, and other fluid-section components are sold separately unless specifically stated otherwise.

This is an aftermarket component and is not manufactured by Titan.

Because these are older sprayers and fluid sections may have been repaired or changed over the years, always verify the 700-583 part number for the pump currently installed on your equipment before ordering.

Completely relieve fluid pressure, disconnect power, and follow the manufacturer's pressure-relief procedure before servicing the fluid section.
