Replaces Titan 0509590 Brass Piston Guide Bushing – Impact, LineCrew & Xi
Service the fluid section on your Titan airless sprayer with this aftermarket brass piston guide bushing that replaces Titan Part #0509590.
The piston guide bushing supports and helps maintain proper alignment of the piston rod as it travels through the fluid section. A worn guide bushing can allow excessive movement of the piston rod, contributing to uneven packing wear, fluid leakage, rod wear, and shortened fluid-section life.

What the Piston Guide Bushing Does
The piston rod in an airless fluid section travels back and forth thousands of times during normal operation.
The piston guide bushing helps keep that rod properly supported and aligned as it moves through the pump. This is important because the rod must travel as straight as possible through the packings and other fluid-section components.
As the bushing wears, additional clearance can develop between the bushing and piston rod. Excessive movement can place uneven loads on the packings and contribute to premature wear.
Common Signs of a Worn Piston Guide Bushing:
- Excessive side-to-side movement of the piston rod
- Uneven or premature packing wear
- Repeated packing failure
- Fluid leakage around the piston rod
- Visible wear inside the guide bushing
- Scoring or unusual wear on the piston rod
- Excessive clearance between the rod and bushing
- Fluid section is already being rebuilt due to high operating hours
Inspect the Piston Rod Carefully
Whenever you're replacing a piston guide bushing, take a close look at the working surface of the piston rod.
Look for:
- Scoring
- Grooves
- Pitting
- Corrosion
- Uneven wear
- Damaged plating or surface finish
A simple test I like for these listings is also useful in the shop: run your fingernail across the working surface of the piston rod. If you can clearly feel grooves or scoring, new packings will have to travel across that damaged surface on every stroke.
Installing new packings and a new guide bushing around a badly worn piston rod can result in another premature failure.
Rebuilding the Fluid Section
If the pump is already apart far enough to replace the 0509590 bushing, inspect the other common fluid-section wear components at the same time:
- Piston rod
- Cylinder
- Upper and lower packings
- Packing glands
- Piston outlet valve
- Inlet valve
- Valve balls and seats
- O-rings and seals
Replacing only one worn component while leaving another badly worn part in service can shorten the life of the repair.
Finding Parts for Older Titan & Wagner Equipment
This part is another good example of how complicated older airless equipment cross-references can become.
The same basic component may appear in equipment carrying Titan, SpeeFlo, Wagner SprayTech, or Amspray branding, and model families changed names over the years.
That's why we include the original 0509590 part number and known equipment applications whenever possible. The original part number is generally the best way to confirm the correct component when repairing older equipment.
Important:
This listing is for one aftermarket brass piston guide bushing that replaces Titan Part #0509590.
The piston rod, packings, cylinder, valves, and other fluid-section components are sold separately unless specifically stated otherwise.
This is an aftermarket component and is not manufactured by Titan, SpeeFlo, or Wagner SprayTech.
Because older sprayers may have been repaired or fitted with different fluid-section components during their service life, always verify Part #0509590 for the pump currently installed on your equipment before ordering.
Completely relieve fluid pressure, disconnect power, and follow the manufacturer's pressure-relief procedure before servicing any airless sprayer fluid section.
