Straight-Bore Nozzle
The F113-024 uses a straight-bore nozzle, producing a relatively concentrated abrasive stream.
This configuration is well suited for localized surface preparation, cleaning individual components, coating removal, and applications where the operator wants to focus the abrasive stream on a specific area.
The straight-bore configuration provides a more concentrated blast pattern, while the venturi configuration is designed to expand the abrasive/air stream for broader coverage.
Why Boron Carbide?
Boron carbide is an extremely hard, wear-resistant material and is an excellent choice for demanding abrasive blasting applications.
Its resistance to abrasive erosion makes it particularly useful for:
- Production blast cabinets
- Frequent or continuous blasting
- Aggressive abrasive media
- Industrial surface preparation
- Applications where extended nozzle service life is important
Actual nozzle life depends on abrasive type, media size, operating pressure, and blasting conditions.
How a Suction Blast Gun Works
Compressed air passing through the 5/32" air jet creates a low-pressure area inside the blast gun, drawing abrasive media through the media hose.
The abrasive combines with the compressed-air stream and exits through the 3/8" boron carbide straight-bore nozzle toward the work surface.
Correct matching of the air jet, nozzle, abrasive supply, and compressor capacity is important for proper abrasive pickup and consistent blasting performance.
Air Consumption / Compressor Requirements

CFM figures are provided as a general siphon-blast compressor-sizing reference. Actual air consumption can vary with gun configuration, nozzle condition, operating conditions, and the compressed-air system. The compressor must provide sufficient CFM at the desired operating pressure for proper abrasive pickup and blasting performance.
Applications:
- Suction-feed blast cabinets
- Industrial abrasive blasting
- Production blasting
- Localized surface preparation
- Paint and coating removal
- Rust and corrosion removal
- Cleaning fabricated and machined components
- Equipment restoration
- General industrial maintenance
Checking Nozzle Wear
Even a boron carbide nozzle will eventually wear as abrasive passes through it.
As the nozzle bore enlarges, you may notice:
- Increased compressed-air consumption
- Changes in blast pattern
- Reduced abrasive velocity
- Reduced blasting efficiency
- Increased abrasive consumption
- Difficulty maintaining operating pressure
Periodically measuring the nozzle bore helps identify excessive wear before it significantly affects blast performance.
Finding Parts for Older Universal / Uniblast Equipment
Universal Equipment Manufacturing and Uniblast Technologies blasting equipment has been used in industrial applications for many years, and components for older machines can sometimes be difficult to identify.
That's why we include the original manufacturer part number and complete nozzle/air-jet configuration whenever possible.
For this assembly, the key identification information is:
Universal / Uniblast F113-024 – 3/8" Boron Carbide Straight-Bore Nozzle with 5/32" Air Jet
Important:
This listing is for one Universal Equipment Manufacturing / Uniblast Technologies F113-024 complete blast gun assembly with 3/8" boron carbide straight-bore nozzle and 5/32" air jet.
Always verify the F113-024 part number, 3/8" nozzle bore, straight-bore nozzle design, and 5/32" air-jet size before ordering.
Completely shut off and relieve compressed-air pressure before installing, removing, or servicing any blast gun, nozzle, air jet, hose, or related blasting component. Never operate abrasive blasting equipment with damaged or improperly secured components.
