What it does:
The high limit switch monitors water temperature within the heating system. If the temperature reaches approximately 225°F, the switch changes electrical state to interrupt the burner control circuit and prevent the burner from continuing to add heat.
High Limit Switch vs. Thermostat:
An adjustable thermostat regulates the pressure washer's normal operating temperature. The high limit switch is a safety device that provides an additional cutoff when the system reaches its preset temperature limit.
Why it matters:
A properly functioning high limit switch helps protect against:
-
Excessive water temperatures
-
Burner overheating
-
Heating coil damage
-
Damage to hoses, seals, and other components
-
Unsafe equipment operation
The 1/2" MPT connection, 225°F fixed temperature setting, and 42" wire lead make this high limit switch a convenient replacement for compatible commercial hot water pressure washer systems.
